The MvixPVR (Personal Video Recorder) is a digital set-top video recorder and media player, with many new features from Mvix, allowing one to record video content from any composite source directly to Hard Drive. The MvixPVR also plays real-time transcoded H.264 content from a networked PC, serves web-access to your media player content and provides internet access to surf popular film, photo and weather sites from your TV, using your Mvix remote control. Add all this to iPod docking functionality and that's a whole lot of new features!

MvixFTS
MvixFTS is a powerful technology that converts and transmits movies made with a codec that is not supported in MvixPVR on a real-time basis.
MvixFTS enables one to transcode the output of movies in H.264 / WMV / MOV / RMVB / RM mode.
MvixFTS can be upgraded to future codecs and can be used only when it is installed on a PC that is connected to the same local network.
MvixFTS can be configured to remain idle on a connected PC until triggered by your MvixPVR GUI.
UPnP
The Mvix UPnP Media Server lets you manage your internet and home media and create your personalised lineup of movies, music and photo library.
It then serves this media to a multitude of networked PC or devices in the home or on the go, overcoming their inherent limitations by doing all the necessary access as easily as typing yourname.mvix.net on the fly, and thus making your media available anywhere and on any UPnP-based device.

Functions
Recording
Using MvixPVR, you can record a movie you are watching on a real-time basis with a single remote controller click.
Also, while the recording is in progress, you can check the movie being recorded. Using the playback menu, you can view the title of the movie being recorded. When playing a recorded movie, you can view it frame-by-frame in slow motion with the 'Slow' key of the remote control.
This function is convenient when watching sports or movies with fast action.
Time Shift
MvixPVR supports time-shift functionality. The movie you are watching can be temporarily paused on a real-time basis.
You can pause a film at any time so you will not miss out on a show for unexpected reasons.
The movie can then be resumed and viewing can continue again uninterrupted.
One can even pause a time-shifted movie to watch something that was recorded and immediately play it while the live movie is temporarily paused. This way, you can view the missed parts by rewinding and even view in slow motion. (Time shift does not create a recorded file.)
Scheduler
MvixPVR supports scheduler function that executes recording by automatically booting up on the pre-set date and time, even when the product has been switched off...
Edit Recordings
MvixPVR supports the basic editing functions to allow one to easily cut, separate, split, merge and copy movies with just the remote control.
UPnP Server
MvixPVR can serve UPnP media to your network.
MvixPVR supports free DDNS so that you can connect to the internal HDD of the PVR not only from a local networked PC, but also via the internet.
This function can be used from an external device that supports UPnP client functionality.
iPod Dock
MvixPVR features an iPod docking station.
When mounting an iPod that supports the TV-OUT function in the dock, one can view movies via a connected TV display and even record output, the MvixPVR remote can also be used to control a docked iPod.
Docked iPods can be recharged.
Multimedia Play
High resolution HD-level file play: MvixPVR supports a maximum of 1920xl080 interface scan to provide clear and high resolution picture quality.
Supporting Diverse Movie Format Types
MvixPVR supports a variety of files, such as not only the HD-level TP, TS and TRP files, but also MPEG, DivX (3/4/5), Xvid, DAT, ISO, DVD (VOB, IFO) and MKV / WMV / ASF / MOV (if using trans-code server), etc.
One can watch movies anywhere as long as there is access to a display device, such as TV, etc. (Note: supports SD-level film play for MKV only).
Convenient Copy
Media files can be copied to and from networked PCs and the MvixPVR internal HDD or a USB storage device connected to MvixPVR.
Supporting Diverse Music Files
MvixPVR supports a variety of music formats, such as MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA, AC3 and DTS, etc.
The music player features fast-forward & rewind functions, so one can quickly find the desired part of a song for listening.
Digital Photo Album
MvixPVR supports the upgraded JPEG and BMP image files. The entire family can enjoying viewing picture files on the TV. Pictures can be rotated on-screen for display without modification.
Network-shared File Play
Files shared on the network can be played (streamed) through wired / wireless means without having to move them to the local hard disk.
Supporting USB Host
MvixPVR features 2 USB 2.0 host ports. By connecting USB external storage, you can easily add a storage device and play files. A USB device such as a card reader, etc. can also be used.
Supporting High Resolution HDMI
The MvixPVR HDMI terminal provides digital signal output, enabling you to enjoy films with greater picture quality.
5.1CH Audio Output and Down Mix Function
MvixPVR provides 5.1CH audio of AC3 and DTS, etc. The 'Downmix' function also plays 2CH audio through TV, without requiring an additional decoding device such as an amplifier (optical, coaxial).
