Enable the Guest account
- Right click on the 'my computer' icon and from the drop-down select 'manage'
- Expand 'local users and groups' and select users
- In the right pane locate the 'Guest' account.
Does it have a red circle with an x in it? If so:- Right click the guest account and select 'properties'
- Uncheck 'disable account'
You have now enabled the guest account.

Enabling advanced file sharing
Note: You need to have 'Advanced File Sharing' enabled to properly set folder security. To enable advanced security do the following.
- Click 'my computer' and select 'tools'. Then from the drop-down menu select 'folder options'
- Select the 'view' tab and scroll to the bottom of the list and uncheck 'Use Simple File Sharing'
You have now enabled 'Advanced File Sharing'.

How to share a folder
- Right click on the folder you want to share and select 'Properties' from the drop-down menu.
- Select the sharing tab and check 'share this folder' and give the share a short name.
Important Note: Keep the share name to under 13 characters, including spaces, or the folder will not display on the Mvix network shares.
- Click the 'Permissions' button and add the 'guest' account by pressing the add button, type "guest" in the box the press OK. You will see the guest account added.
- Highlight the guest account and check 'Read' then click apply. If apply is greyed out then just click 'OK'.
- Next select the security tab and add the guest account the same way you did in the sharing tab.
- Leave the permissions at the default which are 'read and execute' 'List folder content' and 'Read'.
- Click 'apply' then 'OK'.
- Repeat steps 1 - 7 for each folder you want to share with the MVIX.
