For those who have missed this news, MvixUSA have released an ultra-compact small form factor Home-Theatre PC called the "Minx" MX-3250HD, on which you can install your own OS, or XBMC.
PDF Link for specs.
It appears to incorporate the J&W Minix 780G mini-itx motherboard.
My apologies that I'm not around any more - I've given away all my Mvix kit as it is no longer supported by the manufacturer.
I can be found on Mede8erforum.com should you want to get in touch. |

This looks pretty interesting. Anyone bought this yet ? What's the feedback ? If this takes off well, we'll pretty soon need another section in the forums

Yeah..the first HTPC I'm onto that doesn't use the Atom+ION combo but uses AMD+ATI. I was totally sold on the idea of upgrading to Atom 330 dual core with ION GPU, but this one gives a pretty interesting alternative and of course the charm of using the XBMC/Boxee still remains. Will keep an eye for reviews on this one. By the way, a comparison of all the Atom ION boards if you've not chanced upon it already http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3630&am...

In response to Perucho
My Minx just arrived yesterday. I hooked it up today and I cannot get any sound out of it.
I've got it hooked up to hardware that I use for another PC, so I know that the analog speakers work and the cables are good.
I've tried all the output ports on the back and I've tried the non-HDMI audio settings in xbmc. But nothing.
Can anyone point me to something else I can try?

Well, the original issue that I had was solved (hardware issue - I had to send it back for repairs).
The Minx seems to run MythTV just fine. I dropped the latest version of Mythbuntu on it and everything just worked.
Until I moved it from the test harness and hooked it to my TV. I've been trying to 2 days now, but I cannot get any sound from the HDMI connection. The sound works fine from the analog sound card, but nothing at all from the HDMI.
Anyone have any ideas? I've already searched Google and sound solutions to other no-HDMI-sound issues, but none of them worked for me.
