New official firmware for the MX-780HD is here!

Mvix MX-780HD firmware - 2.0.4
Released: 6 October 2008

Release notes :

    1. Support for MKV file container Beta - NOT H.264 codec;
    2. Improved WMA audio codec support;
    3. Autorun folder support added - Movie - Music - Photo - Music + Photo (create autorun/AUTORUN folder on the root);
    4. ogg codec (Vorbis) support;
    5. Video Size added to menu : original, pan scan, full screen;
    6. OSD improved while playing 1080p source file under HDMI 1080p;
    7. Font OSD degradation phenomena improved;
    8. Added Arabic;
    9. Supports ID3v2 - Fixes problem that some mp3 would not play due to embedded jpg cover artwork;
    10. HDMI to DVI compatibility fixed - black screen problem;
    11. Solved auto SSID scan bug (reboot problem);
    12. Internet radio - improved speed and stability;
    13. Network shared folder name size limitation fixed (was limited to 12 characters);



The MX-760HD firmware update should have a similar bug-fix list and will follow shortly.

Hi,

Is there a schedule for next FW release for 760/780's or it is just that Mvix is going to dump the old stuff without make further improvements and bug fixes to these old (As they might say) boxes. Do not know but I have been having some serious issues with Internet Radio on my 780HD box running 2.0.4 via Wireless 10 feet away from my Wireless Home router. Here is the list of issues:

1. Some stations do not play but then 780HD keeps on try to do something for long and sometimes more than 15 minutes.

2. I see duplicate entries for some stations.

Would appreciate any help and info on new FW release.

I doubt that there is a release schedule but if there is then it is certainly not one that we of MvixCommunity going to be privy to. I can say that there is new firmware available and that there seems to have been some work done on the internet radio:

ChangeLog: (As per Google Translate)
    * Ndas feature "Start" and irregular error correction.
    * Expand Internet Radio menu, Shoutcast Radio and Expanded Mvix Live Radio menu.
    * Shoutcast Radio the same as the existing Internet Radio
    * Fixed MvixLive Radio address
    * Internet Radio 5 times when you restart modify stop symptoms.
    * Other minor bug fixes
